Why I chose Traverus Travel
Here's the deal... My wife and I recently became agents with Traverus Travel. In October, my wife and I were presented with and offered 3 companies... Primerica, Essante Worldwide, and YTB (Your Travel Biz). Primerica fit with our desire to help people improve their finances and make better financial decisions. Plus with over 10 years of banking experience it would have made sense. Essante (then known as FUN Unlimited) presented us with the opportunity to be in on the groundfloor of a company with a unique product. YTB made sense to us from the aspect that I know about travel. My dad was a fairly successful Brick and Mortar travel agent before he passed. With us being in ministry, we know many ministers travel and saw this as an opportunity and a way to help. We chose Essante, mainly because it is sooo groundfloor...the product is effective (30lbs in 2 months)...and we believe the future is great. We turned down Primerica because it felt SOOO much like my job. We turned down YTB because of the $500 price tag and said we would probably pick it up later. Fast forward a bit...Essante is moving forward, not as quickly because we are pushing against the market, but still progressing. We kept hearing about problems with YTB. The fact that they lost their IATAN accreditation...inability to book directly with Royal Carribean, Marriott, and some others. So, we felt that it was a good decision that we did not join YTB at that time. I actually stumbled upon Traverus. We still wanted to add a travel company, but did not want join one that had YTB's issues. We saw the ability to realistically make more in the comp plan....and help people. Plus, follow in my dad's footsteps, in some respect. In fact, my dad was such a proponent of Marriott hotels (we stayed in 'em all the time!) that my wife and I made a decision, in his honor to, whenever possible stay in a Marriott hotel. With YTB I could not honor that. Then the bomb dropped... $80 for the month of January!! So, long story short (okay maybe not short, but...) We are PROUD to be agents/members with Traverus Travel! |
