Is YTB Shutting Down?
In what many are calling surprising and even controversial, YTB (Your Travel Biz) has stated that they are considering changing their business model from a Network Marketing model to one of a Franchise. Read the article here. Will a total change in company structure work? I'm not so sure. What does this mean to the much lauded Bill of Rights? Is this the end of the often hyped bonuses? How will a franchise guarantee residual income? What happens to all of the downlines in a franchise environment? See, when other companies in the Network Marketing industry have made the type of severe changes that are being proposed by YTB...it rarely has gone well. We are not talking about changing a pay date or changing an investment amount. This is a full-scale replacement of its Referring Travel Agent (RTA) model. This is changing what has been the core/heart of YTB. The part that will be interesting is how the downlines will be handled as well as the residual income. Can't say that I can think of a franchise (McDonald's, Pizza Hut, etc) that pays its owners to recruit other franchise owners. If I were in YTB, this might be very disconcerting to me. As well, with the prices and other details up in the air...will the $500 that many have found difficult to sell go even higher? Will a YTB Franchise really work? We will see. This is just another reason why I am glad I did my research on YTB and found Traverus. Traverus is truly about travel. And has no plans to "switch up the game" in the middle. Our goal is to create the largest sales force of leisure and luxury travel agents by tapping into the home-based market...not franchisees. Some of the upcoming plans for Traverus include the purchase of an island and some resorts. These steps, along with our recent partnership with 5CTV, are helping to solidify Traverus' position in the Travel Industry. Even the Mexico Director of Tourism saw the value of Traverus and is a member. Traverus pays 70% of travel commissions, currently. Our CEO, David Manning, has recently announced that we will be upping that to 75%. With a low start-up cost, large commissions, and a compensation plan that pays out over 90% of every dollar brought into the company...Traverus is proving to be the smart and profitable (also dependable and consistent) alternative to YTB and YTB Canada. ****************************************************************************** Kevin Crawley is a leader in Oklahoma with Traverus Travel and is looking to establish Executive Leadership teams around the world. He is a husband and father that got tired of missing family time and decided to something about it. He will personally work with you to help you achieve success with this opportunity called Traverus. Feel free to give Kevin a call at 918-770-8971 for more information. |
